Ramon’s Village Resort on Ambergris Caye, Belize

July 4 – 11, 2026

Nestled in the heart of San Pedro on Ambergris Caye, Ramon’s Village Resort offers the perfect blend of island culture and tropical adventure. Built in a Tahitian-style design, the resort is surrounded by lush jungle gardens and sits right on the white sand beach, just steps from the Caribbean Sea. San Pedro itself is a lively town filled with colorful shops, authentic Belizean cuisine, and a welcoming mix of locals and travelers who make the island feel like home. Fun fact: Ambergris Caye is the largest of Belize’s islands, often called “La Isla Bonita,” and its relaxed, golf-cart lifestyle adds to the charm of every visit.

Ramon’s Village features unique cabanas tucked amid palms and tropical flowers, giving guests the feeling of an intimate, exotic hideaway with modern comforts. The resort’s highlight is its world-class diving along the Mesoamerican Barrier Reef – the second-largest barrier reef a short boat-ride offshore. Guests can explore vibrant coral gardens, swim alongside turtles, rays, and nurse sharks, or venture to bucket-list sites like the Great Blue Hole. Whether relaxing by the lagoon-style pool, strolling through San Pedro town, or diving into Belize’s famous underwater world, Ramon’s Village offers the perfect balance of culture, comfort, and unforgettable adventure.

Diving

Diving with Ramon’s Village in July means warm Caribbean waters, excellent visibility, and the chance to experience the world’s second-largest reef system at its best. The Mesoamerican Barrier Reef, just a few minutes offshore, is alive with hard corals, waving sea fans, and schools of colorful reef fish. Loggerhead and green turtles are especially active this time of year, rays glide gracefully along the sandy channels, and nurse sharks are often spotted cruising the shallows. Get your camera ready for striking photos, or join Kim as she teaches the PADI Distinctive Specialty – ReefGuardian: Lionfish Initiative, where she will show you how to identify lionfish, understand their impact on the reef, and safely use a polespear and Zookeeper to remove them. With water temperatures in the mid-80s°F, diving feels effortless, and surface intervals back at the resort let you enjoy island breezes before heading out again.

Ramon’s Village Divers runs a fleet of canopied boats designed for comfort and easy access, from smaller skiffs carrying around eight divers to larger vessels that accommodate 16–24 guests. With the Belize Barrier Reef just a quarter mile offshore, we can reach 30–40 dive sites within minutes. Daily trips depart at 9:00 am, 11:30 am, and 2:00 pm to explore the vibrant reef along Ambergris Caye.  Most reef dives are led in small groups by experienced divemasters who know the sites intimately, tailoring each dive to the skill level and interests of the group. Our trip includes 3 dives per day, Sunday through Thursday, with one of those days dedicated to the iconic Blue Hole excursion. That day begins with a Continental Breakfast on the Ramon’s Village dock, followed by three dives—including a picnic lunch on the beautiful Half Moon Caye. On Friday, we’ll wrap up our week with two morning dives, leaving plenty of time for the required surface interval before heading home on Saturday. That brings us to an incredible total of 17 dives!

Between the rich coral gardens, lively marine encounters, and the ease of diving right from Ramon’s dock, this itinerary offers the perfect blend of world-class diving and laid-back island living. When you’re not underwater, you’ll enjoy thatched-roof, air-conditioned cabanas, the lagoon-style pool, beachside spa services, and fresh island cuisine at Pineapples on the Beach. July is the perfect time to dive Belize, and Ramon’s Village makes it effortless, comfortable, and unforgettable.
