Now is the time to dive into the Scuba Camp and become a PADI Jr. Open Water Diver, the most popular dive program in the world! This is your ticket to a lifetime of intense adventure with PADI, the dive company that sets the standards in the global diving community.

After you complete the summer scuba Camp you with be a certified PADI jr Open Water Diver. the most widely recognized and respected rating in the world, you have the freedom to dive with a certified adult buddy independent of a professional. If you already tried a PADI Discover Scuba Diving experience or are PADI Scuba Diver certified, check with your instructor to see how credit from these courses may apply to the open water program.

What do I need to start?

What do I need to start?

Virtually anyone who is in good health, reasonably fit, and comfortable in the water can earn a PADI Open Water Diver certification.

  • A PADI Jr Open Water Diver between the ages of 10 and 11 years may only dive with a PADI Professional, a certified parent or certified guardian to a maximum depth of 12 meters/40 feet.
  • A PADI Jr Open Water Diver between the ages of 12 and 14 years may dive with a certified adult to a maximum depth of 18 meters/ 60 feet.

  • 5 Classroom sessions
  • 5 Pool sessions (heated indoor pool)

  • FREE DAN diver insurance
  • Use of Tanks, BCD, Regulator & Weights for all pool sessions

What you need to provide

Required Personal Gear: Mask, Fin, Snorkel, Boots and whistle
Students receive a 15% discount on their required gear purchase.

*note that scuba and snorkel equipment are not always compatible.

Open water dive trip not included.

To complete the PADI open water certification 4 open water dive are required. The Dive Shop offers a variety of trips including San Carlos, Mexico; Lake Pleasant, Phoenix; and Balmorhea, Texas.  Cost of trip not included in summer camp pricing.

Class chapter 1 – pool session 1

Tuesday 10am – 2pm
Class Chapters 2 – pool session 2
Bring: books, swimsuit, personal equipment.

Wednesday –  10am – 2pm
Class Chapters 3 – pool session 3
Bring: books, swimsuit, personal equipment.

Thursday 10am – 2pm
Class Chapters 4 – pool session 4
Bring: books, swimsuit, personal equipment.

Friday 10am – 2pm
Class Chapters 5 – pool session 5
Bring: books, swimsuit, personal equipment.

NOTES:

  • Course is based on student reading manual, completing Knowledge Reviews and watching DVD, prior to class.
  • Students need their own personal equipment consisting of mask, fins, snorkel and boots.
  • The Dive Shop offers a 15% discount to all Open Water students on their personal equipment.

* Open water dives require Whistle and Surface marker buoy
** 4 open water dives required for certification. Certification trip not included
**** The Free DAN Dive Insurance is valid through the final training dive.

DUE TO LOWER INSTRUCTOR TO STUDENT RATIO THERE IS $65 FEE ADDED TO THE CERTIFICATION TRIP FOR 10 & 11 YEAR OLDS.

REQUIRED RELEASE FORMS:

Doctor release is only needed if you answered “YES” to any medical questions, for your safety answer all questions honestly, a “YES” doesn’t mean that you can’t SCUBA, you just need your doctor’s approval.
